Check out the Florida fan with no shoes and eating Ocean Spray dried cranberries, I think he is homesick.
As you can see, I was at the game last night, and if you didn’t follow me on twitter here is a quick recap.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]Kentucky (21-14, 4-10) hasn’t had the best season this year. Kentucky’s bullpen has been lacking and have had a hard time getting anyone out. On the other hand, the starting pitching has been consistent. The starter for this game, Taylor Rogers, had a 1-2-3 1st inning and pitched 6 2/3. He allowed 8 hits, 4 earned runs, and striking out 4. The next pitcher on the mound, from the bullpen, was freshman Branden Kapteyn. Kapteyn lasted 2 innings, allowing 2 runs, 2 hits, 1 strike out, 1 walk. Florida used 5 pitchers, none of which could find the strike zone. I believe they walked 7 (not including the 3 batters hit by a pitch)
Florida scored first, Austin Maddox hit a double and was then sacrificed to 3rd. Matt den Dekker then hit an RBI single. Kentucky tied it in the second inning when the bases were loaded after 2 walks and the Florida pitcher walked Chad Wright to tie the game.
Mike Zunino for UF hit a homer in the 3rd to make it 2-1. Kentucky would never recover. In the next inning Florida would score again making it 3-1. Kentucky answered with the bases loaded and Chad Wright scored a run, but Florida got a double play making it 3-2 going into the 5th inning.
In the 7th inning Florida scored again when Nolan Fontana scored off of a sacrifice fly making it 4-2 Gators.
In the 9th Florida scored 2 more runs from a 2 run homer from Preston Tucker making it 6-2. Andy Burns would hit a homer in the bottom of the 9th to make it 6-3 and then 2 quick outs to end the game.
Florida claims the series and the last game will be played today at 1pm.
