Jerry Tipton of the Lexington Herald-Leader reports tonight that [B]Kentucky freshman Enes Kanter[/B], who has not been officially ruled eligible for the 2010-11 season, [B]has been granted a waiver which will allow him to practice while his case is reviewed.[/B]

[I]Because UK began practicing for its exhibition series in Canada on Aug. 1, Kanter’s 45-day window expired this week. The NCAA grants waivers to the 45-day limit.[/I]
[I]UK spokesman DeWayne Peevy confirmed on Wednesday that Kanter would continue to practice.[/I]
[I]“Any student-athlete that is awaiting certification is reviewed periodically for practice eligibility,” Peevy said in a statement. “Enes Kanter is currently eligible to practice.”[/I]
