ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has long been considered one of if not the, expert on the NCAA Tournament. Much of his ESPN career has been spent on projecting, not only who will make the Tourney, but their seed and placement.
In his most recent article entitled 37 New Year’s Thoughts, Lunardi had this to say about the up and coming Wildcats.
Kentucky should be back in the top 10 by now (No. 11 in the Associated Press poll, No. 12 in the ESPN/USA Today poll). The Wildcats will get better and better on their way to another SEC title and No. 1 NCAA tournament seed.
In his pre-season Bracketology selections, Lunardi had Duke, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Kansas as his number 1 seeds. Truthfully, I just cant see Michigan State as a 1 seed without some major improvement, but that’s why the tourney is in late March and not December.
Lunardi also stated that in the end, the number 1 seeds will be Kentucky, Duke, Georgetown and whoever wins the Big 10.
Go Cats!!!
