Does Artis to UCLA re-open Rose to UK?

Look, I know Cal has already signed Ryan Harrow and he will be eligible in 2012. I know that L.J. Rose has put UK on the back burner for UCLA and Texas. I also know that L.J. Rose is a phenomenal lead guard, and that coach Cal has a good track record with guys named Rose.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]A couple of days ago another top point in the class of 2012, California native Dominic Artis, committed to UCLA, which was one of Rose’s top two schools. Louisiana native and fellow top 2012 point guard Javan Felix was thought to be considering UCLA and Texas as well, but now says that Texas is the favorite for his services.

Joe Kaiser of ESPN thinks that the two are now in a “first-commit-gets-the-spot-scenario”. Meaning if Felix pulls the trigger soon, Rose could be left out in the cold. Javan has told me he is planning on committing early so unless Rose is sure of Texas by the end of summer, it would seem to be Felix that will wear burnt orange.

So what does that mean for Kentucky? Well for one, it means that UK is instantly the most appealing school left on his list from speaking with L.J. recently. It also means that Harrow could play more off the ball, it’s no secret that he is more of a scoring point guard. Would this scare someone like Ricky Ledo away? I doubt it, Ledo is a talented two guard and knows that he could easily press for minutes against Harrow. One thing’s for sure, this could mean a whole new opening for UK.
