Do you know Kentucky’s Identity?

We are headed into the SEC Tournament this Friday and I’m sure many fans are sick of hearing comparisons between last year’s team and this year’s, but it’s just what we do. Last year, as one of the best teams in the country, our identity was clear and can be summed up with one word: Dominance.

John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins could take over a game with ease! They were able to pull through and snag wins even when it seemed impossible. With essentially 2 starting line-ups and 5 NBA-bound players, being a UK fan was thrilling last year and playing against us was frightening.

This year Brandon Knight has turned into our rock. Terence Jones has become an incredible athlete. Doron Lamb is our outside threat. Darius Miller has the necessary experience. Harrellson is a rebounding machine and finally Deandre Liggins brings energy and toughness. We are pretty much a six man team!

Each player has an individual identity, but what is our team’s identity as a whole? I think we’re unseasoned. We have all the fixing’s for a great meal, we just need that spice of experience to kick the flavor up a notch. We shoot the 3 well. We defend well. Our guard play is great. We create some mix-matches with our size in the back court. In my opinion, we have a young team that must rely on each other and work together in every single game to succeed. What one word would you use to describe this team’s identity?
