Derby Classic Reaches out to UK for Help

The Derby Classic in Louisville Kentucky has been a way for local fans to see future Louisville and Kentucky stars before they get to college.

A Kentucky recruit has played every year since the inception of the event in 1972, but it doesn’t look like it is going to happen this year.

All four of the signees for Kentucky are playing in the McDonald’s All American game and the Jordan Brand Classic in Charlotte.

There have been rumors that the Derby Classic are going to try and get Trevor Lacey, who was at the Kentucky game yesterday, and DeAndre Daniels. Daniels decided to go back to IMG to finish of the season instead of picking a college.

Derby Classic officials have said to have contacted Coach Cal and President Todd on maybe luring Kentucky recruits to the game in the future.

It looks like Cal’s recruiting a team full of McDonald’s All Americans every year is hurting the Derby roster.

Be interesting to see how the University handles the request.
