I always thought ‘Commitment’ meant a promise or a pledge or a vow (at least some form of obligation). Evidently college football has a different definition. In college football a commitment is kind of like sarcasm.
“Will you commit to play for us?”
“Sure.” (rolls eyes).
The ‘de-commitment’ blade cuts both ways, as in possibly losing 4-star 2011 athlete Jon Davis to Louisville or possibly gaining 3-star 2011 WR from Alabama. I wonder if the ladies are catching on to this phenomenon. The next time you commit to a relationship with a woman, is she going to ask “…like college basketball commit, or like college football commit?”
