Dear South Carolina Gamecocks 1-25-2010

January 25, 2010
Dear South Carolina Gamecocks,

You play host to the number one team in the nation tomorrow, the Kentucky Wildcats. When they get to Columbia tomorrow they will have the support of Big Blue Nation which is much more powerful than having home court advantage. I know I probably don’t need to mention it though; I’m sure your own anticipation of 9:00pm on January 26, 2010 is tough enough. The Wildcats are talented and seem to get better and better with each game.

As I type this and begin to gain excitement anticipating the opportunity to watch the Cats on your court tomorrow only one word comes to mind:

Now don’t get that confused with Mary Poppins. These guys don’t need an umbrella to fly around as they’ve been doing it all year like the Harlem Globetrotters. You have a decent home record (8-2) and you’re on a 3-game losing streak hosting the #1 team in the nation, which will undoubtedly give you some motivation on the court. It might not be enough though. I want to share 5 thoughts that I have with you:

John Wall does it all. I think we’ll see a double-double from him tomorrow.

DeMarcus Cousins footwork gets better and better. Study the tape closely and watch his moves against Arkansas on Saturday.

Patrick Patterson brings all the experience and complete composure. Don’t be the one that is under him when he throws down his powerful dunk. You just don’t want to be on that side of the Sports Center top 10.

Darius Miller: Threeeeeeeee! He’s starting to light it up

Eric Bledsoe is fast too. I know, I know. It’s bad enough that you have to contend with one fast guard, but two? That’s right, two.
Hmmm, after listing those 5 thoughts I came up with another:

Watch out for Mark Krebs and Jon Hood behind the 3-point line when they enter the game. I think they will get playing time tomorrow.
It’s going to be a tough game for you but hold your heads high. As much as we will enjoy watching Kentucky play you tomorrow on your home floor, we were all very saddened by your loss to Florida on Saturday. You have the condolences from the Nation of Blue; the only thing we like seeing more than Kentucky win is Florida lose. You were thhhiiiiiiiisssss close. Good luck tomorrow to both teams!

Cordially,
Scott Z. and…
