After attending a camp at Kentucky this summer and receiving an offer, Stephenson wide receiver DeMarcus Sweat has been very excited about the opportunity to sport the blue and white.
However, the star receiver is also thankful to have the entire recruiting process complete.
“It feels good to finally be an official Wildcat,” Sweat began in relief. “I can’t wait to get up to Kentucky and start playing.”
In fact, Sweat is so excited he already has his calendar marked as to when he will arrive in Lexington.
“I don’t have an exact schedule, but I think I’m supposed to be on campus around June 6th. I may come up a little early though. I’m excited for it.”
The 6-foot-2 receiver also has high standards set for himself and the team. He expects nothing other than the best, just as the UK staff has preached the past few weeks.
“I feel like I can come in and make a big impact. I expect to do big things at the next level. Of course I want to win the Heisman, but I’m ready to help my team be the best.”
In addition to Sweat, Kentucky has a great class coming in, headed by quarterback Patrick Towles. Sweat is already familiar with his play-caller, and he looks to create an impressive duo in the next few years.
“Patrick Towles is a great player. I can’t wait to play with him. He can really make a team better.”
Sweat also commented on Towles being vastly-underrated.
“He is an underrated guy, and I can relate to that. I feel like we’re in the same boat. We will surprise and prove people wrong.”
