As with DeAndre Liggins last year, Coach Calipari is staying tight lipped on the Darnell Dodson situation. I have yet to hear why Darnell isn’t with the team.
We know he’s academically eligible. Take that one out of the equation. Last year, Liggins had to learn to do it Calipari’s way. Dodson may be going through similar growing pains.
Liggins was a different player last year, when he finally got out of Cal’s dog house. He was very impressive during the Cats three game stint in Canada and I only expect he will continue to improve as we move toward the season.

If Darnell’s issue is similar, then expect one of two things, Darnell will buy into the team and Cal’s way and improve as a Player from it, or he will make a decision that it’s not in his best interest and move on to another team.
Calipari seems to find ways to make tough situation’s work, so if it is an agreement issue, I’m convinced Darnell will be back and will be a viable team member for the 2011-12 season.

This was great news for my ears. I’m a Dodson fan and believe he has a lot to offer the Cats. I also believe in team first and that one apple can spoil the bunch. I’m not calling Darnell a bad apple, instead I’m supporting Calipari and Darnell in the hopes that they can come to an agreement, end whatever the issue is, and Darnell can be a viable member of the 2011-12 team.
