Darius Miller – Don’t Listen to Coach Cal

Apparently some people think they know what’s possible in the future of Darius Miller better than his coach does. Coach Calipari said during the SEC Teleconference today, “Right now everybody is talking about Darius (Miller) that it’s ridiculous. See, Darius could put himself in a position at the end of next year that he’s making a decision, and maybe DeAndre (Liggins) the same deal.”[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

To me, that sounds like Cal thinks that Darius has NBA potential for the 2011 draft. Maybe there is some work to be done and it will depend on the year Miller has, there is a chance none the less. Yet, some douche bag employed by a NY radio station thinks differently. I guess the slogan of the station says it all: “The voice of the Big Red”.
Poor Darius Miller.

Who is Darius Miller you ask? He is the other Kentucky starter. Kentucky had a record five players drafted in the first round of last night’s NBA draft, but not all of them were starters. This comes a year after teammate Jodi Meeks was drafted into the NBA.

Miller, who is entering his junior year, averaged 21.2 minutes a contest and 6.5 points a game on a star studded roster last winter.

Unfortunately for Miller, unlike his teammates, the NBA was not an option this summer…and it most likely will not be an option next summer either, with three incoming freshmen (Enes Kanter, Brandon Knight, and Terrence Jones) that are already be projected as lottery picks next year.

At least it is pretty cool to say that you played with at least 9 NBA players.
Well, there you have it Darius. Despite your hard work and the expert guidance of Coach Cal et. al., you don’t have a shot at the league. Good luck anyways.

Sheesh…
