Dillard University is going to be on the schedule next year, according to Alan Cutler. Dale Brown, former UK player, is the head coach for Dillard and he is excited to play his alma mater for more reasons than one. This from LEX18.com:

Dale Brown, who played a role in the Cats making it to the Final Four in New Orleans in 1993, will be bringing his team, Dillard University to Rupp either on November 5th or 7th.

Dillard needs exhibition games like this to help his budget. They are strapped for cash. Playing exhibition games against his former teammates Travis Ford at Oklahoma State and John Pelphrey at Arkansas helped pay for some of Brown’s scholarships.

Dale has had a rough time at Dillard where they have no scholarship money .The school and surrounding area suffered severe damage during Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath has left Dillard’s basketball program in shambles.
“We’re having an extremely difficult time right now,” Brown explained. “I’m trying to get some uniforms and other equipment ordered right now and can use any extra help I can get.”
He continued, “I’m doing all I can as far as trying to raise money to help our team’s cause, but I’m not really getting any help.”
