Dillard coach and former Kentucky player Dale Brown has been through a rough time lately and hasn’t coached in about 3 weeks due to an illness.
I spoke to Dale and he told me about a recruiting trip to his old high school where he started having severe stomach pains.
He decided to leave and went straight to the emergency room to see what was wrong.
He found out that he had Diverticulitis which is swelling of an abnormal pouch in the intestinal wall. These pouches are usually found in the large intestine (colon).
He had to have emergency surgery so the toxins would not infect the rest of his organs.
The surgery was successful and Dale has been recovering over the past 3 weeks.
Dale will be back on the sideline on Feb. 16 vs. Tougaloo College from Jackson, Mississippi.
I wish Dale well in the rest of the season and his conference tournament.
