Conner Hempel Commits to Harvard, and That’s Okay

Ryle High School (Union, KY) QB Conner Hempel recently committed to play his college ball at Harvard next year. Hempel had been considering the Cats among several others, but UK had not offered a scholarship. According to Scout.com, scholarships were offered from Bowling Green, Western Kentucky and Harvard.

Why is that okay? Well first of all, as one reader speculated ‘you can’t get them all, Todd’. Second, Kentucky already has commits from two QBs in the 2011 class (Theltus Cobbins and Max Smith). Third, Kentucky already has three fantastic QBs that will be vying for the starting position for the next few years (3-star Morgan Newton, 4-star Ryan Mossakowski and 3-star Tyler Brause). With that said, we wish all the best to Conner in his future endeavors. And if he wouldn’t mind putting in a good word with teammate Travis Elliott for us, we’d really appreciate it.
