College Football BCS Bowl Picks

Earlier this week, I gave you my non-BCS bowl picks. Now, it’s time to pick the BCS games, including the national championship:
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
– Rose Bowl, TCU vs. Wisconsin
Jan. 1, 2011, at 5:10 p.m. ET, ESPN, Pasadena, Calif.

Reasoning: TCU hasn’t lost yet…might as well pick them to polish off the perfect season. Actually, if the season were perfect, TCU would have an opportunity to compete for a national title, but that’s a discussion for another time.

– Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Connecticut vs. Oklahoma
Jan. 1, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN, Glendale, Ariz.

Reasoning: Simply put…Oklahoma is better and the fact that UConn is even in a BCS game is…how should I put this…baffling.

– Discover Orange Bowl, Virginia Tech vs. Stanford
Jan. 3, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN, Miami

Reasoning: Virginia Tech started slow but have been one of the nation’s hottest teams the rest of the way. I’ll take the Hokies to keep rolling.

– Allstate Sugar Bowl, Arkansas vs. Ohio State
Jan. 4, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN, New Orleans

Reasoning: My initial instinct was to pick Ohio State, but I hate O$U and refuse to pick them. Thanks to the Buckeyes, this season I have been a bandwagon fan of Marshall, Miami (FL), Ohio, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Purdue, Minnesota, Penn State, Iowa and Michigan. Go Razorbacks!

– BCS National Championship, Auburn vs. Oregon
Jan. 10, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. ET. ESPN, Glendale, Ariz.

Reasoning: This will surely be a game for the ages. There will be too much talent on the field to disappoint. Honestly, it could go either way, but I’m an SEC guy and I’m taking Auburn.
