Coach Cal addressed the press during SEC Media Day earlier this week. As could be expected, the questioning starts off with last years team. As Calipari has been preaching for the past 4’ish weeks “it’s time to turn the page,” after a brief reply regarding the early season close games. He also talks about my favorite subject, one and done’s. [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
I’ll go on the record again saying that I absolutely agree with and support Calipari’s position on players entering the NBA early. At the end of the day, the rules allow players who are one year removed from high school to enter the NBA draft. If those are the rules and a player is an NBA playing caliber, it would be juvenile to hole those young athletes back for selfish reasons. Go and earn those million’s of dollars.
Coach Cal says that he doesn’t like the rules and thinks that a player should have to stay 2 or 3 years. But that’s not what the rules are today so he has to live with them.
