Coach Cal has released some pre-summer notes on CoachCal.com. There are some interesting comments from Coach regarding the previous class and the new class. He also gives us some insight into the GPA’s from the players for the second semester. There was also some other important news from the Calipari family.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
“Lastly, I have some personal news to share with you and I hope you will understand why I am doing so. I always try and am as transparent and forthcoming as possible with the Big Blue Nation and this is no exception. My mom, Donna Calipari, is battling cancer and I’m going to spend some time these next few days trying to figure out the best course of action for her medical care. At some point here in the near future, I will tell you all about my mom. For now, please know this is the woman who gave me my drive and my mindset to dream big dreams. She is a fighter and an incredibly strong woman.
Right now my family’s focus is on getting her the care she needs. I hope you understand this will take me away from Lexington and my focus will shift away from basketball and to providing support, help and comfort for my mom. Anyone who has gone through this knows it’s devastating for all involved.
It would mean so much to our family if we could get the prayers and thoughts of the BBN directed to my mom as she bravely fights her battle with this dreaded disease. I hope you all understand and I thank you for your compassion and well wishes.”
