It happened at the end of the Rockets practice on Thursday, Chuck Hayes came down on a teammates foot and sprained his right ankle.
Apparently severely enough to keep him out of the line up for the Rockets.
The 6th-year forward had to be carried off the floor and he was immediately taken for an X-ray and MRI which revealed a moderate to severe sprain.

Here are some excerpts from the Rockets:

“(It happened) right at the end of the practice,” said Rockets Head Coach Rick Adelman.
“He’s our best defender inside. It’s going to affect our whole rotation.”
With Hayes on the shelf, the Rockets now need fellow bigs Jordan Hill, Patrick Patterson and Jared Jeffries to step up and help the club overcome his absence.
No one player can replace the defensive acumen, intelligence and versatility Hayes brings to the table, which is why it’s so imperative for each of the aforementioned forwards to raise his level of play in the interim.
Hayes has started 20 games in place of center Yao Ming(notes), out for the season with a stress fracture in his left ankle. The Rockets’ best interior defender,Hayes is averaging six points, 5.9 rebounds and 21.5 minutes.
Hayes had 13 points and eight rebounds in the Rockets’ 125-119 loss to Miami on Wednesday night.
Speedy recovery for the Chuck wagon.
