Now, I know you can’t put too much stock in the Tweets of a junior in high school, but Chris Walker is making a pretty bold statement if he is just joking. Walker posted this morning that he and Nerlens Noel were “100%” going to the same school. Just for spits and giggles, lets take a look at which schools the two have in common.
Walker lists interest from Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio State and Syracuse – but to my knowledge the only offer on that list is from Florida. Noel is getting interest from UConn, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, Providence, Syracuse and Texas Tech – but to my knowledge only has offers from Florida, Georgetown, Kentucky and Syracuse.
Both have spoken highly of Kentucky, and if Kentucky offered Walker then things may change. However, Walker’s most recent interview listed his current favorite as Florida, and since Florida is the only school to have offered both recruits, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Billy Donovan may have a great start to the 2013 recruiting class shortly.
Walker also stated that he would take into account who is already attending the universities on his list ”I’m definitely going to take into consideration who coaches already have. If guys like Anthony Davis are already at Kentucky, I probably won’t go there. That’s another thing I’m looking at.”
I hope I’m wrong, because both of these guys are top 5 in their class and would instantly be a force for whichever school gets them.
