Cats Lose to Pitt 27-10

The second half was as miserable as the first. Kentucky looked as if they didn’t know who to get the ball to as Randall Cobb and Derrick Locke rarely touched the ball the entire game. Every time the duo touched the ball the offense seemed to move the ball down the field.

This is a terrible loss to a team that seemed to be in disarray the entire week with all of the craziness of their coaching situation. The Pitt offense ran the ball at will and dominated the defensive line of Kentucky, getting at least a 3 yard push every time the ball was snapped.

Some say Morgan Newton wasn’t to blame for this loss, but you could definitely tell how important Mike Hartline was to this offense. Newton missed several receivers in the second half for big gains and touchdowns. I think if someone has a month to get ready for a game he should at least have a feel for the offense. I didn’t see that with Morgan Newton.

I hate to say it again, but this was a huge loss for Kentucky and Joker Phillips. Recruiting is the future and the outcome today could definitely effect it. At least there is a basketball game today to make us feel better….
