Cats Eating Dawg Dust At The Half

After, what most would consider a miserable effort at the BBVA Compass Bowl and a lost to a three time coached Pittsburgh team, the basketball version of the Cats are struggling against SEC foe Georgia.

So far the Dawgs have had their way, out rebounding Kentucky 19-16, all while hitting 48.3% from the field and 40.0% from the 3-point line.

Georgia’s Trey Thompkins leads all scorers with 14 on 5-9 from the field and 4-4 from the line. For Kentucky, Doron Lamb has a team high of 10 points. Josh Harrellson is having his usual productive game with 2 points, 6 boards, 2 assists and 1 block.

Georgia set the tone early as they opened on a 7-0 run behind two turnovers from uk and 5 points from Georgia’s Gerald Robinson. The Cats responded with back to back 3-pointers from Lamb and Miller to pull within one.

It was the closest Kentucky would get in the first half as Georgia ended the first half on a 13-4 run, creating the 11-point half time deficit.
