Cat’s Corner on Sports Overtime Again

The Mississippi Valley State game is tomorrow night and for some odd reason WYMT’s Sports Overtime wanted me to give game analysis again. Check out the show at 11:30pm if you live in Eastern Kentucky on channel 57 WYMT or you can watch it on a live stream at the link below.

The funny thing is last time I watched the entire show, and when it was time for my segment, the feed cut out. My luck I guess. So, it must have went well last time, even though I didn’t have Josh Harrellson as the player to watch.. No one could have guessed that though.

I will give a little preview of my game analysis if you don’t want to stay up late and watch it. You can also look for an embed sometime in the future if we can figure out how to get it to work.

Game Preview
Mississippi Valley State is 1-8 but they have played 6 BCS schools this season and have played 2 SEC teams very close. They had Georgia beat in the first game of the year and ended up losing 72-70. The Cats better not come out of the locker room bored or thinking they can roll over the Fighting Sean Woods by just wearing the UK uniform.

The key matchup is the backcourts. MVS’s starting backcourt of Terrance Joyner (10.8) and D’Angelo Jackson(10.2) are the only 2 players that average in double figures. It should be a good matchup for Brandon Knight and DeAndre Liggins.

The Player of the game, in which I wasn’t allowed to pick Terrence Jones, will be Darius Miller. Now, that is the exact opposite of what I said last week as I picked Doron Lamb and was pushing for Lamb to start. Miller needs to be assertive and this is a perfect game to start doing that. Also, it always seems to me that Darius dominates Mid-Major opponents. It doesn’t hurt that Woods’ team average heighth is 6’4, with only one player over 6’8″.
