Looking at the rest of the Kentucky schedule, the Cats have 9 games remaining. Two of those future opponents are ranked as of right now(UT and Vandy). Five of the nine games are on the road. This last stretch of games in the SEC is going to decide alot about the type of team we will be during tournament time. I have thoughts about each contest and lets see how each game pans out for the Cats.

The games that I am not worried about is @ LSU, Alabama, and Florida. I know some of you are saying Florida? We already drilled them down there and I think that we are a matchup nightmare for them.

Everyone knows that we have the Vols coming for Gameday on Feb. 13. I almost feel like this is a trap game. A trap game? Yes. Gameday there, a media circus, and Bob Knight. We didn’t handle distractions very well the first time we lost, and I look forward to see how much the young Cats have learned. It will be an unbelievable atmosphere. UT showed me alot when they beat Kansas. They love adversity. It will be a war.

Here is where the trap was set. Going to Mississippi St. after a hard fought game vs. Tennessee on the national stage. Going to Starkville, Mississippi after the spotlight was on you would have to be such a downer. Jarvis Varnardo is going to see if DeMarcus Cousins is the real deal. It is the matchup that I am looking forward to the most. There could be 15 blocks in this game. This game will come down to hitting shots from the perimeter. It will be really hard to do a whole lot in the paint with all the shot blockers that will be on the floor. I just hope we out-shoot them.

For some reason I am not worried about Vanderbilt. I don’t know why, but I think it is a win. If we jump out early and carry over the intimidation factor from the game at Rupp, we should be fine. Vandy just doesn’t match up well with us. I know, I just jinxed us.

The next 3 games are very tough as you play a confidant South Carolina team at home, go to Knoxville, and then go play a improving Georgia Bulldog team in Athens. What kind of record do you think will have out of these 3 games? It will be tough to win @Knoxville, so I think we have done well if we go 2-1.
What kind of record do you think Kentucky will have the rest of the way? 9 games until the SEC tournament. I think the Cats could go 8-1 if they keep improving defense, and if Darnell Dodson keeps scoring a point a minute then we could possibly go 9-0. I think they go 7-2 with losses at Mississippi St and @ Knoxville. I pray for 9-0, but I am also realistic. All that matters is the tournament.
