While most teenagers were out enjoying their Christmas break from school and focusing on other things, Chris Walker (2013, Holmes County, FL) was focusing on making a visit to a school.
Walker got to speak with assistant Orlando Antigua on Christmas day, and the two discussed many things about his recruitment, including a possible visit.
“The coaches and I have talked about making a visit, but I’m not sure yet. It will be very soon,” Walker assured.
Kentucky coaches have not been on Walker for long, thus being a reason the current sophomore has yet to make a visit to Lexington.
“They (Kentucky) have been looking at me for a couple of months now.”
Like any other recruit would, he added, “I’m really happy they are involved.”
Everyone knows that Kentucky is one of the most prestigious programs (if not the most prestigious) in the basketball world. Youngsters are bound to have the ‘Cats on their list of dream schools or favorites.
Walker is likewise.
“They (Kentucky) are my favorite school, and I like how the fans show love their love.”
However, Calipari and his team have failed to claim the top spot on Walker’s premature “list.”
“Kentucky is second behind Florida right now,” he said. “I live in Florida.”
It looks like Coach Cal has some work to on this diaper-dandy before they pass Billy Donovan and the Gators as Walker’s primary favorite right now.
Fortunately, Walker is still young and has plenty of time to change his views on both respective schools.
With the way Kentucky fans are beginning to treat him on Twitter and message boards, Walker could easily be a favoring the Wildcats in the future.
But until then, SEC East-rival Florida remains the top choice.
Walker has written offers from Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Virginia Tech, UCF, and Georgia.
