CAT Fans Are Crazy: #1 In Attendance for Division I Basketball

It’s official! UK Basketball led the nation in Division I home attendance. This is the 14th time in 15yrs that UK has led in average home attendance. Out of 18 home games, 433,989 fans filled Rupp Arena. That was the most by any school since 1993.

This story was reported by LEX18.com. Here’s an excerpt…
Some of the numbers released by the NCAA on Wednesday looked familiar. The top five home drawing cards were Kentucky, Syracuse, Louisville, Tennessee and North Carolina. The Wildcats had an average attendance of 24,111 at 18 home games in John Calipari’s first season. Syracuse was next at 22,152 in 19 home games.

Either Kentucky or Syracuse has led the nation in home attendance for each of the past 34 seasons.

Kentucky also led the nation in total attendance at home, road and neutral court games, playing 38 times in front of 724,145 fans. But even the Wildcats couldn’t offset the decline in other areas.

We all love going to basketball games, but to set a “average attendance” record, you need to fill the place up every night. We did that! Through rain, sleet or snow (and much lesser opponents) we still filled the place.

Like Coach Cal said….”You People Are Crazy… And I Love It!!

That doesn’t count Big Blue Madness!!! Here’s a little exhibition from the BBM campground and a little Dancing guy…
