After the surprise start of Darnell Dodson, Coach Cal has me wondering who he will start to matchup with #18 Ole Miss. The Rebels are led by Chris Warren who lead the Rebels in scoring with 16.7 pts per game. Warren is another 5-10 guard that could cause the Cats trouble if we don’t contain him. Letting Warren penetrate and go to the basket or kick it off for 3 to a couple of his buddies, Terrico White and Zach Graham, could make it a long night for Kentucky. Eniel Polynice, son of Olden, averages 10 pts a game and will also be a threat that we have to defend.
Looking at Ole Miss reminds me of another team that we have already played, and that is South Carolina. The only difference in the 2 teams is that Ole Miss has won more games than USC. I am really glad that this game is in Rupp because having to go to Oxford could have been another Columbia.
I look for Coach Cal to go with the same lineup he did last game. Dodson earned another start in my opinion, and for some reason he might give Darius another chance since he usually plays better at home then on the road. If Cal does make a change, I look for Miller to be the odd man out, with Bledsoe and Dodson starting; along with Cousins, Wall and Patterson. The similarities of this game with the Gamecocks are scary, but I like playing them at home. As long as Ole Miss doesn’t hit the 3s and Warren doesn’t turn into Devan Downey we will be ok!! Go Cats!
