The Wildcats tip off against Coppin State at 7:00pm tonight (we hope to bring you a live feed and chat during the game) and Brandon Knight is looking to lead his CATS to another victory. The young 11th ranked Wildcats are developing each day. Terrence Jones is hitting the gym early and Brandon Knight is becoming a leader on the court. “You’re seeing a point guard, right before your eyes, starting to mature,” Calipari said of Knight on Monday.

Knight started the year as a quiet player. His 17.5 points per game are always made quietly and consistently across 34 minutes per game. But Brandon Knight is starting to find his voice and is being heard.
”I never saw him say a word in high school, in practices or in games or in AAU games,” the UK coach said. “Now you walk in (to a Kentucky practice), it’s either his voice or my voice you hear.”
And that’s just what the young Wildcats need.
”They’re not going to follow a leader who they think it’s all about (the ego-centric player),” Calipari said. “But if the players feel the leader is thinking of a team? ” ‘I’ll follow him anywhere he wants to take me.'”
After tonight’s game, we’ll get a chance to see just how far Knight and the CATS have come along as this will most likely be the last cupcake team they’ll face. This weekend brings the instate rivalry game during which both teams will be tested physically and mentally. That will be a game that will take genuine leadership.
Listen for Brandon Knight tonight. I look for a 20+ point performance with 8 assists while he directs the team and continues to learn how to talk.
