Brandon Knight scored 23 points in 35 minutes of play. He was 6-10 from the field including 2-5 from 3-point range. The bad mark on the card was having only 2 assists with 5 turnovers. But even with that, Brandon Knight took a step towards the top of the UK record books and is now tied with John Wall for the most 20+ point games by a UK freshman.
We spoke about this yesterday. This is the new list:
1. Patrick Patterson (2007-08) 9
Rex Chapman (1986-87) 9
3. Brandon Knight (2010-11) 8
John Wall (2009-10) 8
5. Terrence Jones (2010-11) 6
Sam Bowie (1979-80) 6
7. Keith Bogans (1999-00) 5
Dwight Anderson (1978-79) 5
9. Eric Bledsoe (2009-10) 4
DeMarcus Cousins (2009-10) 4
Chris Mills (1988-89) 4
Doron Lamb (2010-11) 3
At this point, I think it’s a near certainty that at the end of the season Knight will be at the top of this list. And he is on track to do it in a big way. I see 12 20+ point games for the freshman leader.
Congrats young man on your step up the ladder last night!
