Brandon Knight Leads CATS Over Huskies

Tonight was an opportunity to make a statement and the CATS did just that. The game started with a frantic pace that lead to Stacy Poole, Jon Hood and even Jared Polson seeing playing time before the half was over.

The CATS broke out to a 20-6 lead, but the Huskies kept chipping away, and eventually went into the half with a one point lead.

When the second half started, the CATS roared back and built momentum after an earth quake and dead ball technical foul. I’m not joking about the earth quake.

[/QUOTE]Here’s some thoughts on tonight’s standouts….

There’s been a lot of talk about Terrence Jones, but after tonight, it was very evident that Brandon Knight leads this team. The Huskies made a comeback while Knight was on the bench after picking up two early fouls.

Even though his play was limited, Knight still lead with CATS with 12 points at the half. Knight started the second half and quickly picked up right where he left off and regained the lead for the CATS. BK finished with 24pts

It took Josh Harrellson a while to get going, but he ended the game with 14 rebounds. He may not have lead the team, but each one seemed to come when we needed it the most.

You can tell that Josh takes pride in helping his team and rebounding seems to be his new specialty.

Terrence Jones seemed to always be in the right place at the right time. It was obvious that the UW fans loved anytime Terrence’s man scored or his shot was blocked. To his credit, he maintained his composure and let his play do the talking… Sort of like “Boogie” in reverse.

Jones finishes with 16pts and led the team with 17rebs.

One thing is for certain, this team definitely defends the three much better than last years team. This might have been the deciding factor in the first half and ultimately the game. Liggins set’s the tone and everyone else follows.

Should be a good game against UCONN. The game starts at 10pm EST, and will be on ESPN.
