[LEFT]Each summer families across America decide that their junk could be someone else’s treasure. Garage sales and yard sales pop up across the nation and people are happy because they are able to clean out their closets. Well what if our beloved Kentucky teams could clean out their so called “closets” and return next season with less “junk” or “baggage” than the season before? [/LEFT]
[LEFT]Here are some things I’d like to see our teams get rid of this summer:[/LEFT]
[LEFT][B][I][U]Missing Free Throws[/U][/I][/B] – There were times this season when Kentucky would come up huge at the end of a close game and make clutch free throws. There were OTHER times, many many other times where the Cats simply could not close it out at the stripe. (See UConn Final Four game). Hopefully this will be a big seller at this summer’s big blue yard sale![/LEFT]
[B][I][U]Lack of Aggression[/U][/I][/B] – I’m looking at you Eloy. Yes, Vargas seemed to improve towards the end of the season, a little fire seemed to be lit under him and he was more active than ever. But the team will need more than that from Vargas next season, so check the passive play at the door. This baggage can also apply to our football team. This year the football Cats will need to be super aggressive on defense and play up to our strength in Danny Trevathan. After losing some key players last season, this is more important than ever that Kentucky comes into the game as the aggressor.
[I][B][U]Dropped Passes[/U][/B][/I] – The spring football game left fans with a decent taste in their mouth for the upcoming season, but there was one part in particular we’d rather have left behind for the first kick off on September 1st. [FONT=Tahoma]During that game it felt like we saw dropped pass after dropped pass. [/FONT][FONT=Tahoma]Newton[/FONT][FONT=Tahoma] seemed to do a good job of throwing the ball with decent accuracy; so pressure seems to be on the receivers. [/FONT] I don’t know if it is lack of focus or skill, but regardless, it needs to go, and it needs to go fast!
