BatCats come up short; lose to Louisville 10-9

Once again Kentucky fails to keep momentum and win. The Batcats started out good and started to fade, coming back, and then fading off again. This seems to be the story of the Kentucky Wildcats baseball team.

Kentucky scored first off of a double by Gunner Glad, then Lance Ray getting to first because of wild pitch and a throwing error.

Kentucky scored again in the 2nd inning off of a RBI single by Luke Maile.

Louisville tied it up in the 4th inning after hitting 3 singles in a row and stealing home by Andrew Clark. Then later in the inning a RBI double by Cade Stallings to allow Ryan Wright to score.

Louisville would take the lead in the 6th inning 5-2. The inning starting out with Sam Kidd hitting Phil Wunderlich with a pitch and walking Stewart Ijames. this led to the second pitching change of the night for kentucky. Nick Kennedy came into the game after Sam Kidd had just replaced Walter Wijas.

With 1 out and 2 runners on base, Zac Wasserman hit a single to load the bases for Louisville. An error allowed Wunderlich to score. Drew Haynes hit a single but was caught out on 2nd, but before he was called out Wasserman and Ijames scored.

Kentucky would score again in the 7th when Chris Bisson hit a 2 run homer, making the score 5-4 UofL.

Wunderlich hit a homer in the 8th to make the score 6-4.

Kentucky would take te lead back in the 9th after Andy Burns hit a RBI single to allow Chris Bisson to score. The next pitch Lance Ray hit a RBI double to bring Chad Wright to home plate. then Keenan Wiley scores after a throwing error by the short stop.

When all is looking well for Kentucky they usually let it go…

In the bottom of the 9th Louisville scored 4 runs, winning the game. After Jeff Arnold hit a single and Adam Duvall was hit by a pitch, Andrew Clark hit a RBI double to allow Arnold to score. Wright hit a single allowing Clark and Duvall to score. Later in the inning Wasserman singled allowing the winning run to come in and the Batcats to lose.
