Last night Kentucky (24-18, 7-12) beat Tennessee (22-21, 6-13) 12-8.
Starting pitching for Kentucky has been pretty solid, with most pitchers going 5-6 innings. Kentucky’s started Logan Darnell pitched for 6.1 innings and allowed 5 runs. Kentucky only used 3 pitchers and UT used 5.
All season long Kentucky has looked good in the first few innings and would then start fading away. This didn’t happen last night, as they played an even game all 9 innings.
Kentucky hit 6 homers; one each for Marcus Nidiffer, Chris Bisson, Gunner Glad, and Lance Ray. Taylor Black blasted 2 over the fence.
This game was crazy and hopefully the BatCats can keep it going and beat UT 2 more times. Maybe they can drop the name “Fadeaway Cats” to “Runaway” Cats with 14 games left in the regular season.
They face Tennesse again tody at 4pm in Knoxville.
