Kentucky (24-20, 7-14) lost the weekend series to Tennessee (24-21, 8-13) today by a score of 3-1.. Kentucky won the first game and then lost the last 2.
The starting pitcher for Kentucky Jordan Cooper went 5 innings allowing 2 runs, walking 3, and striking out 2. UK then used 2 other pitchers, Mike[COLOR=#000000]Kaczmarek and Nick Kennedy. Kaczmarek went 1.1 innings and allowed 1 run and 2 strikeouts. Kennedy went 1.2 innings and didn’t allow a run, striking out 1.[/COLOR]
Kentucky struggled to hit the ball only getting 6 hits and 1 run.
Kentucky’s only score was off of a RBI single by Braden Kapteyn to allow Gunner Glad to score.
The Vols scored in the 2nd inning to tie the game when Khayyan Norfork grounded out to allow Zach Osborne to score.
In the 6th inning UT loaded the bases with no outs. Matt Ramsey hit a ball to the mound allowing PJ Polk to score.
In the 7th inning Norfork scored when Glad threw the ball way over the catchers hand.
Kentucky plays again on Friday against South Carolina at 7pm. I plan on going to at least one game in that series.
