In the world of Kentucky recruiting, the hot name right now is DeAndre Daniels. Why? Daniels has communicated that he is possibly interested in entering College in the Spring semester versus waiting until Fall of 2011.
A member of the 2011 Class, Daniels originally committed to Texas, only to withdraw that commitment and open up his recruiting process.

Weeks before the Fall semester actually started, Daniels considered reclassifying from 2011 to the 2010 class, before eventually deciding to attend IMG Academy in Florida.
Daniels is the number 9 overall ranked player of the 2011 class and is rated number 3 at the position of Small Forward. He would be a major land for any team and a great mid-season addition, except for one small problem.
Chris Fisher of 24/7 interviewed Daniels’ former high school coach at Taft, Derrick Taylor.
Here are some excerpts from his interview:
[QUOTE]Daniels now plans to enroll in January but wants to redshirt and play as a freshman starting in the 2011-2012 season.
“That’s the plan,” Taylor said. “He wants to come in at the semester break. He wants to redshirt but lift weights, get acclimated to the system and have a good chance of producing next year.”[/QUOTE]
Kentucky obviously impressed Daniels as UK is one of three schools currently on his radar.
[QUOTE]Taylor says Daniels, who visited UK over the weekend, has a short list that includes the Wildcats, Kansas and Oregon.
“It’s very short and I think Kentucky is right there,” Taylor said. “I know [B]he loves Kentucky[/B].”

With all three schools visited, Taylor says a final decision could be on the horizon.

We know that DeAndre was hanging out with [URL=”http://www.nationofblue.com/cal-malone-s-deandre-daniels-4069/”]Coach Calipari at Malone’s on Friday[/URL]. Rod Strickland, Orlando Antigua and Terrence Jones were also in attendance with Daniels.
There’s always a chance that he could play this Spring, but it appears now that whoever he chooses, will land an early 2011 present, but not one that will be of any assistance for the current season.
A statement I was hoping I wouldn’t read. Kentucky could have used his length and athleticism for the current 2010-11 season.
Add Daniels to the current inked 2011 Class, and you could have the Greatest recruiting class of all times.
