Archie Goodwin Keeping Up with Kentucky

Top 2012 Kentucky recruit Archie Goodwin is writing a basketball recruiting diary for Sync.Arkansasonline.com and talks about how things are going during his current basketball season and all the coaches and players he talks to on a routine basis.

Here is an excerpt from his diary where he talks about the correspondance he has with Kentucky Coach Orlando Antigua, Brandon Knight, and Terrence Jones.

Kentucky offered me a scholarship the night after the Watson Chapel game. Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua and I e-mail a lot — about every other day. We’ll talk about how they’re doing, and how they can get better. He’ll ask how I’m doing. I e-mail Coach Cal [John Calipari, Kentucky’s head coach] sometimes, but I mostly call him. All the coaches try to stay in contact with me, but Antigua does more often. Every time I talk to a coach it’ll be a long talk. They always want to talk your ear off. They’ll talk to me, then pass the phone to the other coach, who’ll talk to me, then pass the phone to the other one. They can go on for a long time, but I don’t mind — I love talking to coaches. I’m blessed to be in the position I’m in.

As far as players, I talk to Brandon Knight and Terrence Jones at Kentucky. I talk to Scotty Hopson from Tennessee.

Archie Goodwin would be a great addition to any school’s class, but since Kentucky hasn’t signed anyone for 2012, he would be a great start for Coach Cal.
