A Consolidated Look at the Top 10 for 2012

For stat followers like myself, one of the best parts about the off-season is when the new rankings come out. For the 2012 class in basketball, Scout, Rivals, Maxpreps and 247sports (PrepStar) have all updated their rankings this week. I fully expect ESPN to update theirs soon, but with the numbers as of this morning, I have calculated an average ranking for the top 10. It should come as no surprise then that UK is (or was) involved with all 10 of them.
RankNameAve. Rank

1Shabazz Muhammad1.4

2Andre Drummond1.8

3Isaiah Austin2.8

4Mitch McGary5.0

5Kaleb Tarczewski7.6

6DaJuan Coleman8.6

7Ricardo Ledo8.8

8Rodney Purvis9.4

8Kyle Anderson9.4

10Brandon Ashley10.8

I expect the numbers to shift a little when ESPN comes out with their new rankings, but not much. About the only recruit in anybody’s top 10 that Kentucky is not actively recruiting is Cameron Ridley, whose average rank comes in at 10.8 (Ridley has already committed to Texas).
