Kentucky Softball Finishes Season Ranked Inside Top-15

Kentucky Softball’s success this season was historical, and they added another achievement with the releasing of the USA Softball and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) rankings.

After finishing the season with a 40-16 record, Kentucky finished ranked 12 in the USA Softball poll and 13 in the NFCA poll, which is the first time in school history the Wildcats have finished in the top-25.

It was a season to remember for Kentucky. They concluded the season with many milestones: a school-record 40 wins, six single-season offensive records, knocked off 12 top-25 ranked opponents, won a school-best five Southeastern Conference series, appeared in a third consecutive NCAA Tournament, and advanced to the final field of 16 in the national tournament.

Kentucky entered the top-25 after only four games and remained in there for the remainder of the season.

Kentucky is among a total of four SEC teams to finish in the top-25. The other teams included Florida (No. 2), Alabama (No. 3), and Georgia (No.9).
