The University of Kentucky baseball program got another commit this week in the form of 2012 catcher/third-baseman [URL=”http://www.wildcatrecruits.com/playerProfile.php?Contact_ID=981&Recruit=Casey-Schroeder”]Casey Schroeder[/URL]. Schroeder hails from Glandorf, Ohio (Ottowa-Glandorf H.S.), and was originally committed to Tennessee. However, after the coaching change at UT, he re-opened his recruitment this past June. This week he chose the Cats over schools like North Carolina, Florida, Wake Forest, Virginia, Arkansas and Cincinnati.
Schroeder is 6′ 2”, 190 lbs. and is a switch-hitter (bats both right and left). His batting average last year was .460 and he hit 4 home runs. I’ll try to get an interview with him later this week, but wanted to pass the news on for now.
