You might be surprised to learn that ESPN has only 1 player in their top 25 rankings for the upcoming season.
You also might be surprised he is ranked at #23.
23. Hamidou Diallo, Kentucky Wildcats
This has been a golden age, of sorts, for Kentucky shooting guards, as first Jamal Murray and then Malik Monk combined sequentially over the past two seasons to hit 40.3 percent of their 3s. That might prove to be a tough mark for Diallo to equal (in 127 total minutes for Team USA at the FIBA U19 World Cup this summer, he shot just 2-of-10 from beyond the arc), but the redshirt freshman brings other skills to the table. In particular, Diallo’s wingspan and vertical leap can fairly be termed the stuff of legend.
A lot of good bulletin board material for a lot of young Wildcats in the 2017-18 season.
Duke had 3 of the 25 with Marvin Bagley being ranked 1st and tripping down to 3rd is Grayson Allen.
