Scout.com has given some ”Way Early Bowl Picks” for college football next season. They project the Kentucky Wildcats in the PapaJohns.com Bowl on January 8 against Rutgers.
Here is an excerpt:

Way Too Early Projection: Rutgers vs. Kentucky
WHY? Kentucky, Tennessee, or Ole Miss are SEC options, while Rutgers, Cincinnati, and UConn are the top three Big East candidates.

My Thoughts:
The good news for Kentucky is that they are projected to win at least 6 games and continue an unprecedented run of postseason play (by UK’s traditional gridiron standards).
The bad news is that they are expected to win 6-7 games and still not break into that coveted “next level” of bowl games (8+ wins).
As always, the separation between an average-good season and a good-great season will come down to traditional SEC foes like Tennessee and Georgia. Those are must-win games if the Cats are to reach the next level.
