Hartline’s War

Should it bother you, the UK fan, when Randall Cobb says that the leader of the offense doesn’t have anyone backing him except his teammates? What about when people are still saying he isn’t any good after he has just beaten Louisville for the 3rd time in his career?
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]Oh, and by the way, that has never been accomplished by a quarterback in UK football history. Mike Hartline has already overcome the most negative circumstances to beat his team’s and fanbase’s archrival, and the bad thing about it is our own fanbase is the one causing the negativity.

Mike looked great standing in the pocket, and his offensive line gave him time throughout the game. He also looked really good rolling out and hitting receivers on the run. I commented throughout the game several times Mike looked really strong. Strong as in confident, and totally sure of the decisions he was making, which is what I want in a quarterback. Mike’s numbers weren’t NFL caliber, 17-26 for 217 yards, but I don’t remember him making one mistake throughout the entire game. He threw the ball away when he needed to and didn’t try to force any passes into situations that could have turned the momentum to Louisville.

Now, next week when Commonwealth will be full to watch a sure blowout, lets show our new leader some respect. Mike is so used to getting booed in Commonwealth, or the other quarterback getting cheered when he finally gets in. I can even remember fans cheering when Mike was knocked out of the game with an injury. Is this really a way to treat our starting quarterback who happens to be the lead Cardinal killer in BlueGrass history? Mike Hartline needs a standing ovation, because it sure would be a change from what he is used to from so called Kentucky Football fans. Think how well he played versus Louisville with just his team behind him, and now think how well he could play with the entire Big Blue Nation behind him. Go Cats!!!
