Dear Mike Hartline 9-6-2010

September 6, 2010
Dear Mike Hartline,

Saturday was a great day for Team Hartline. It was a day that witnessed you convert from an uncertainty by most fans into the man leading Big Blue on the field. You had a spectacular game and made all the right decisions. And the icing on the cake is being the only quarterback to win three games against the Cardinals. That is an accomplishment to be so proud of! More importantly, on Saturday you earned the support from fans that at one time were against you.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Even though it was just one game, 217 yards on 17-26 isn’t too bad for the season opener against the biggest rival on their home field. That performance coming from someone who has taken the criticism you have, even being booed in your own stadium, well I think it’s damn good! You have proven to me that you are the right man for the job and I am glad to see you under center for your senior year.

Undoubtedly the first bad game you have the internet will be flowing with calls to replace you. As you have done so brilliantly in the past, look past the whispers from the fans and continue to concentrate on your game. For all of those that don’t support you, there are at least two more that do. More importantly than any fans support is that you have the support of your teammates and your coaching staff who you showed made the right decision by getting behind you.

I’m glad you’re out there to lead the Wildcats and hope for nothing but the best of luck throughout the entire season. Go out and get a confident and convincing win over Western Kentucky this weekend!

A supportive “Team Hartline” fan,
Scott Z. and…
