Kentucky vs. Akron Zips??

The only real important details in this whole article is that the Wildcats will play the Zips on Saturday at 7:00pm and will be carried on Fox Sports South. That is much better than the Pay Per View a lot of fans in the state had to contend with against Western Kentucky. If you don’t have Fox Sports South don’t fear; your friendly Nation of Blue editors, who have no life, will find you a live feed. Anyway, let’s get to know the Akron Zips really quickly.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

The Zips represent the University of Akron which is located in Akron, Ohio. They are a part of the Mid-American Conference have started the season 0-2. This is the first meeting between Kentucky and Akron, but they have played 4 SEC teams in the past posting a 0-4 record.

Here is the most famed play from the Zips from 2007 vs. Western Michigan.

Offensively, the ZIPS have a whopping 555 yards of total this year with an even attack in the air and on the ground. They’ve scored 40 points (compared to Kentucky’s 86) and have played in front of crowds of 15,000 and 10,000 in size. In their first game this season against Syracuse, they only earned 9 first downs.

All in all, this should be another sure win for the Wildcats who would then take a 3-0 record into SEC play. Look for the Wildcats to have an opportunity to put second string players in during the second half again, which may allow the Zips to score their first 4th quarter points of the season. Nah!!
