[*]Mike Hartline was almost flawless as he was 21-29 for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. I never remember Mike making a bad pass during the game. I guess next week is the test for all of the haters….
[*]Derrick Locke went over 2,000 in a big way as he went wild for 166 yards on 17 carries and 2 scores. Derrick is fast.
[*]Chris Matthews keeps catching touchdowns as well and could end up being the difference maker for conference play. You know you have Cobb and Locke, but Chris could be the guy that really takes the heat off of those guys if he making plays.
[*]Raymond Sanders and Coshik Williams both scored and Donald Russell looked great throughout the game. This is the best crop of running back at Kentucky in a while and it will be great to watch these guys come into their own in the next couple of years.
[*]Randall Cobb is usually causing heartburn for the other team, but he set out a lot of the 4th quarter with his own heartburn. Cobb still looked great with 43 yards receiving and a touchdown. Hopefully he will have the ball a whole lot more next week, and would definitely like to see him run the ball more.
[*]DeQuin Evans finally came out of his funk, finishing the game with 3 tackles and a sack. The 2 studs for the defense though were Tyler Wyndham and Danny Trevathan. The defense did what i hoped they would do, and that was keeping Akron under 100 yards rushing. Keep building D, going to be a real challenge next week.
[*]Craig McIntosh looked good early, but missed an extra point late in the game. We can’t miss extra points. Enough said.

The consensus with the fans, at least on the live chat, was they Cats have the best chance in a long time of beating the Gators next week. I will believe it when I see it. With that said, it definitely isn’t the Gators of old, but if the Cats play the first half next week like they did tonight, it will be a long day in the Swamp. Go Cats!!
