The Kentucky Wildcats suffered a huge 48-14 loss in Gainesville to the Florida Gators. We all know that now and it is time to move on. No one expected Kentucky to have an undefeated season, in fact even the most optimistic fans felt an 8-4 season was possible at best. Ok, I have seen some people say 10-2 but if we looked at the average of the optimists, let’s go with 8-4. That means we can still have a great season and have 3 more losses.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Kentucky does not face Alabama this year which would be almost a sure loss. That is an advantage for the season. There is no Arkansas. Check. No LSU. Again, another check. In fact, it appears the only “sure” troublesome games are South Carolina and Auburn. Let’s say we chalked those up as losses for the sake of this analysis. Let’s also say we lose to Tennessee. Those 3 losses still keep us at an excellent 8-4 season.

Those losses would mean we would have to win at Ole Miss, against Georgia, at Mississippi State and against Vanderbilt and Charleston Southern. To me, those 5 games seem like a real possibility still this season.

I think UK can still pull out an 8-4 season. Joker Phillips and his squad aren’t going to let this their first loss pull them down. I’m chalking Randall Cobb up for a 200+ yard game in Oxford and helping the Wildcats get back on track.

Or perhaps I am the Optimistic UK Fan.
