Five-star Kentucky recruit [URL=”http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/player-Rodney-Purvis-105796″]Rodney Purvis[/URL] tweeted today that he is reclassifying from the Class of 2013 to the Class of 2012.
His tweet stated’ “[URL=”http://twitter.com/rpurvis_44/statuses/27469560905″]I’m officially 2012. No I’m not committed !!![/URL]”

Purvis is rated as the Number 2 Player overall by Rivals.com and Number 3 overall by Scout.com. he plays the Point Guard position, stands 6-3 and weighs 185lbs, so it only makes sense that he is a targeted recruit of Coach Calipari and the Cats.
Purvis had this to say about his reclassification:
“There was no need for me to stay in 2013 because all of my classes would be finished for next year,” Purvis told Scout.com.
“I had all my credits in order to qualify,” he added. “I’m working on my SAT stuff now. There wasn’t a need for me to stay around high school and waste time.”
His list consists of Duke, Memphis, North Carolina, Louisville, [B]Kentucky[/B], Texas, Xavier, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.
Purvis said he’s not worried about making his college decision anytime soon. In fact, he’s more worried about getting better on the court.
“Actually I’m just working harder,” Purvis said. “I’m just working harder. I want to be one of the best in 2012.”
As of now he has no visits scheduled for Kentucky. I would expect that to change as the recruiting will heat up quickly for the top rated Point Guard.
