The Allstate Sugar Bowl released the news that Mike Hartline has been added to the Manning Award list. For those of you unfamiliar with the award, it was set up to honor the nations best collegiate quarterback. The namesake is, of course, Archie Manning (for our younger audience, that’s Peyton and Eli’s dad – he was an awesome QB for the Saints back in the day). In fact, all three Mannings will have votes in deciding the 10 finalists.
The Manning Award released its list of 33 quarterbacks pre-season, and added 10 more at mid-season. The 10 finalists will be announced November 29th and the winner on January 19th. Former winners include Matt Leinart (USC), Vince Young (Texas), JaMarcus Russell (LSU), Matt Ryan (Boston College), Tim Tebow (Florida) and Colt McCoy (Texas).
