Texas A&M Beats Georgia With a Clock Operator’s Error

Georgia just lost a game at Texas A&M because of an error by the clock operator.

The Bulldogs had the ball, down 1 point, with only seconds to go.

J.J. Frazier glanced at the clock and noticed that he had almost 6 seconds to go so he fed the ball to the post. A foul was called and the Bulldogs appeared ready to tie or win the game at the free throw line.

After the play, however, it was determined that the clock froze on 5.6 seconds.

After a review, referees determined that time should have expired and ruled that the game was over…Texas A&M won 63-62.

Instead of sitting at 5-2 in the SEC, Georgia is now at 4-3 and well out of the hunt for first place.

This loss could very well keep Georgia out of the NCAA Tournament come March.
