Can the Cats really pull off a big win in Knoxville today? It seems like every year Kentucky football fans get their hopes up just to have their hopes destroyed 3 hours after the game starts. I have gone on record in saying I think the Cats will lose by 14 today. Tennessee has to win this game to be bowl eligible, and nothing would be sweeter but to break the streak and blow up any chance for the Volunteers to extend their season. I want that to happen more than anything, but I sure wouldn’t bet on it.

[*]I am very happy that Boise State lost. I was getting so tired of hearing the argument that they deserved to be in the National Championship game. Now the talk is Boise will play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. I guess I am an elitist when it comes to college football. I am a SEC fan, and there is no way you can convince me that Boise State would even come close to winning the conference in any year.
[*]The Georgia Bulldogs have lost 2 games in a row in the Old Spice Classic. They lost to Notre Dame and Temple. Temple lost to California, who had 5 points vs. Notre Dame at the half. Every team in the SEC East has a loss except for 1 team.
[*]That team is Tennessee. The embattled Bruce Pearl has rallied his troops, behind freshman sensation Tobias Harris and University Heights alum Scotty Hopson, to get off to an undefeated start. The preseason polls have become totally worthless in my mind, as the media had Florida and some had Georgia ahead of the Cats and Vols.
[*]Since I am from the Mountains, I thought I would give a big shout out to Belfry and Hazard as they have made the State Finals in KHSAA football. Hazard outlasted Lexington Christian and Belfry upset #1 Somerset. Hazard will play Mayfield and Belfry will play Louisville Central next weekend in Bowling Green.
[*]I am looking forward to the Cats getting back into action Tuesday vs. Boston University. I would definitely expect a lot more ball movement and a lot less selfishness, since Cal harped on it so hard after the loss vs. UCONN. The schedule will be a lot tougher after the 1 home game as they have to travel to Chapel Hill, then Notre Dame in Louisville, and then back to Rupp to play Indiana. The next couple of weeks could really set the tone for the rest of the season and what seeding the Cats get in March.
[/LIST]Everyone enjoy the day, and lets hope I am wrong about the game today. I know everyone talks about Randall Cobb, but i still think the game revolves around Mike Hartline and the defense. Time to make plays!!!!! Go Cats!!!
