BREAKING: Florida’s Urban Meyer To Resign – Again

Less then a year after Act 1 of Urban Meyer resigning from Florida, it appears he will complete Act 2 and officially resign at 6:00 PM Eastern time today, this according to Fanhouse and Brett McMurphy.

Urban stated, “After spending more than two decades motivating and celebrating the young men I’ve been so proud to coach, I relish the opportunity to cheer for my three terrific kids as they compete in their own respective sports. I know how fortunate I am to be in a position to make this choice and to have a family that is as loving and supportive as my amazing wife and children have always been.”

Just for fun:

CBS’s Gregg Doyel threw out a fun tweet, “Urban Meyer steps down two days after there’s an opening to coach Tim Tebow in Denver …” You make the call on that one.

One other bit of fun from Beisner, “Florida officials release statement saying Meyer is not leaving, but someone will be hired to serve as co-head coach.” Not really, obviously…

Personally I believe he is following in the footsteps of Brett Favre and could be back as the Florida Head Coach in less then a month or two. Why not, retire, get talked back into Coaching, retire, get talked back into Coaching… What a gig…

More to come as this story continues to break, but for now it appears Florida’s 2011 season will be without one Urban Meyer.

Go Cats!!!
